From ArticleWorld
The Arts and Crafts Movement is an English art movement of the late 19th century. This reformist movement influenced British decorative arts, architecture, crafts, cabinet making and cottage garden designs. In the USA, the term is used to describe the interior design style used between the periods of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The Arts and Crafts Movement appeared as a reaction against industrialism but after all, it did not turn out neither anti-modernist neither anti-industrialist.
