This discipline seeks to design processes for large-scale manufacture in as economic a way as possible. Three major physical laws underlie chemical engineering. These are the conservation of mass, conservation of energy and the conservation of momentum. Chemical engineering is a broad field and includes applications in the biomedical, environmental and material sciences fields.
