Radioactive waste is a special type of waste that has in its composition at least one chemical substance that emits radiation, without having a specific purpose of use. Such waste is usually obtained after nuclear processes, with the most common one being nuclear fusion. Sources of radioactive wastes vary and include NORM, coal, oil, gas, medical equipment, mineral processing, industrial operations and others. A common problem that troubles people is due to some accidents that involved radioactive waste but there is no problem if properly handled.
