The term sexuality is one which describes all aspects of a living thing that are related to gender, reproduction, the sexual act, gender preference and, in higher animals, the secondary sex-related characteristics one develops as a result of social norms, societal expectations and, in the case of some animals, the society of the herd or group in which the animal lives. All sexuality begins with the genetic predisposition toward a certain sex and involves, ultimately, those aspects of a plant or animal that result in reproduction.
