Qawwali is a style of folk music that has been around since the 800’s and was formed in the shrines of India and Pakistan. It is a very fluid and formed style that has stayed culturally root, but has developed some over the course of the centuries in its presentation and in its methodology. It is a style that is regionally bound, but has been tied to New Age music and world music over the past decades.
