To develop outstanding leadership qualities you need to put in extreme hard work, have perseverance and faith in your abilities. Leaders are both born as well as made and to become an outstanding leader you need to improve the skills that you already possess and acquire new ones because even born leaders don’t start out by possessing all the skills that are required to become a leader. If you think you have it in you to lead people then the following guidelines will help you achieve your objective.

- Lead by example: A good leader always sets standards of performance that people want and need to reach. A good leader does not spare himself/ herself.
- A good leader knows how to communicate well and through communication a leader may develop empathy with the followers, be able to persuade people to follow a course of action and show the way forward.
- Leaders know how to network, keeping in touch with people and using their networks to highlight issues and find solutions.
- A good leader is always action oriented and through their actions identify themselves with the people who follow and vice-versa.
- Leaders need to seize every opportunity that comes their way and find potential in every situation.
- Leaders can perceive their goals with clarity and vision and they are always goal oriented. They work towards a purpose and a target that spells the good of most people.
