Business – quite literally the state of being busy – refers to activity, industry, engagement, and concern. It also describes the object of activity or concern, or habitual occupation, often but not always of a commercial nature. Today business is used more often to describe commercial enterprises and the network of relationships between them, and the sense of interest or concern is secondary.
