Concerts are most common when a band is promoting an album release or just touring to help promote the band. Typically a band will tour where in their respective region or continent. There are some bands that will make a point of making international tours that are global in the hopes of getting wider exposure. This can be a good thing, but is expensive and can be very time consuming.
