Electronic music is music created using electronic equipment. Virtually any sound produced by an electrical signal may quite reasonably be called electronic music. Except as a category of criticism and for marketing purposes of the music, electronic music typically refers to music produced largely by electronic musical components. This would be synthesizers, samplers, computers, and drum machines. These are ideal as they have the ability of building the base melody and rhythm.
