Enka is a form of Japanese music that is in many respects similar to American Country music. It is expressive with a story to it and is commonly in a somber overtone. It is mellow dramatic and shows a passion that is now becoming overlooked. The music has been declining in overall sale due to the introduction of many Western styles of music. Whether or not it will remain among the listened will be determined in the years to come.
