From ArticleWorld

The immune system is that part of the body that defends the body systems against pathogens, toxins or cancer cells. The cells of the immune system generally are produced by the bone marrow in an immature or a nearly mature form. Phagocytes are a class of cells that take part in the destruction or “eating” of the foreign pathogen. Lymphocytes can be B-cells that produce antibodies in order to mark the foreign cells or T-cells, which are processed in the thymus and have destructive properties.
