World War II (also known as the Second World War or WWII) was a six years’ world conflict that took place from 1939 until 1945. The war started with the attack of Germany. Germany was later joined by Italy, Japan and other countries. They formed the Axis. The Allies were originally formed of France, The United Kingdom and Poland and in 1942 were joined by the US. The war ended on September 2, 1945 with the surrendering of Japan. Germany having already capitulated earlier that year.
