Deutsche Telekom is leading the charge as Europe's former state-owned telecommunications monopolies confront competition. It is the telecom company in Europe and one of the largest in the world. The company's T-Com unit provides fixed-line network access services and Deutsche Telekom is still Germany's fixed-line phone operator, with about 58 million access lines. T-Mobile International serves wireless phone customers and the company's majority-owned T-Online unit, with 13 million customers, is one of Europe's leading ISPs. The T-Systems division specializes in IT services. The German government has reduced its stake in the company to about 15%. German state-owned development bank KfW owns about 22%.

Benefit for the customer is at the center of all activities. Globally, the 'T' is to rank as the brand for quality, efficiency and innovation. Deutsche Telekom offers millions of private and corporate customers all over the world the entire spectrum of modern information technology and telecommunications services - from wireless communications, Internet and fixed-network to complex IT and telecommunications solutions.

Integrated company, Deutsche Telekom's focus on the three main growth areas in the industry - Broadband/Fixed-network, Business Customers and Mobile Communications - further develops the four-pillar strategy pursued up to now. The goal is to become the fastest growing integrated telecommunications company in Europe.

Three strategic growth areas:

The strategic business area Broadband/Fixed-network consists of the business units T-Com and T-Online, which serve private customers along with small and smallest enterprises. Additionally, there is the wholesale sector - business with resellers. T-Com is also responsible for the entire basic infrastructure in the fixed-network field - the 'backbone' of the company.

Deutsche Telekom bundles its wireless activities in the strategic business area Mobile Communications. Deutsche Telekom's activities in the strategic business area Business Customers are run under the T-Systems brand. 'T-Systems Enterprise Services' is the business unit for dealings with multinational corporations, while 'T-Systems Business Services' handle business with some 160,000 large and medium-sized companies in Germany. Internationalization and sustainability:

As an internationally oriented company, Deutsche Telekom AG is represented in about 50 countries around the globe. More than a third of our 2004 revenues were generated outside of Germany. The Group is committed to the principles of sustainability and uses economic as well as social and ecological criteria as the basis for its actions.
