Formula One 101: Many fans consider Formula One racing to be the pinnacle of auto racing, given that the vehicles are the fastest, most technologically advanced (and most expensive) racing cars in the world. Formula One has quite a long history, dating back to the 1950s. It's a global sport, with races and tracks spread across the globe.

Formula One teams work closely with manufacturers, spending millions of dollars to test and perfect every facet of the cars. They also hire drivers from around the world to test and compete in the two cars that each team fields every race day.

Formula One has two World Championships up for grabs each season, one that individual drivers compete for -- the Drivers' Championship -- and another that car manufacturers compete for -- the Constructors' Championship.
