For some people, decorating for Christmas signals that the season is really here! If your yard has a plain chain link fence, there are ways to decorate it tastefully and beautifully.

What you need
- When you start shopping for the decorations you need for your chain link fence, there will be a lot of choices.
- Stick to the traditional decorations. They are timeless and have awed many through out the years. A Santa Claus and Reindeer that can be hung on your chain link fence are very tasteful.
- Lots and lots of small-multicolored strings of blinking lights
- Clear icicle lights-the kind that is sold for decorating windows
- Weather resistant holiday wreaths.
- Small holiday angel decorations
- Ornament hangers

How to decorate
- First, envision how you want your chain link fence to look once it is decorated.
- Next, hang the Santa and Reindeer or what ever theme you picked out in the middle of the fence.
- Start weaving the light in and out of the links of the fence, skipping every other one.
- Use one string of lights at a time. This will avoid tangling the strands. Make sure you weave enough lights to go the length of the fence from top to bottom, end to end.
- Hang the holiday wreaths along the fence. You can also string holiday lights around the around the wreaths.
- Using ornament hooks, attach one angel in the center of each wreath.
- The final touch is the icicles. Hang each strand over the top of the chain link fence.
- When you turn the lights on, and they start blinking through the icicles, it should look like a beautiful snowstorm.
