Creating your own Christmas presents is a way of personalizing the gift to each individual person that you have on your Christmas list.

  • There is bound to be a chocolate lover or two on your Christmas list. For these people the ideas are endless. This is an exquisite by inexpensive way to create more than one gift out of one purchase.
  • Visit your local candy store to purchase the chocolate. There is usually a selection of multi-colored chocolate available. Make use of local dollar stores for wrapping paper, ribbons, tape, and anything else you may need. Browsing a little may give you more ideas.
  • Dollar stores have a wide variety of merchandise that may you may be able to take advantage of.
  • Purchase plastic spoons, they come in a variety of colors at the dollar store, and you can coordinate the spoons with the chocolate.

Cooking is personal

  • Melt the chocolate in any method you are comfortable with. It is important to use a separate bowl for each color. If you are not experienced a melting chocolate, it is very easy. For first timers use the double boiler method. Put a metal bowl on a pot of boiling water if you do not have a double boiler. Add the chocolate and let it set for one minute then stir constantly until the chocolate is almost melted. That the bowl off of the pot and continue stirring until melted.
  • Now, you have to work quickly. Take the spoons one at a time and dip them in the chocolate. Set it on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper let them cool while finishing the rest of the spoons.

When they are all cooled, dip them again. When you are ready to put your gift together, use the ribbons to wrap your gift.

  • The spoons can be used as an after dinner treat, or as an added flavor for coffee.
