How to persuade your mother to let you highlight your hair

To persuade your mother to let you color your hair may require some hard work and some special convincing tactics but if you are really set on it you can do it if you play your cards right. Moms can become real sticklers for discipline sometime and it is up to you and your persuasive ways to let her allow you to get your own way. That highlighting has become very common and all your friends are doing it is an argument that does not cut ice with most parents and you need some serious help if you want that funky look. Here are some tips on how to influence your mom.

A few suggestions

1. You have to prove yourself to be a responsible and mature enough person before she will even consider allowing you to do anything drastic to your hair. So do your homework, help your younger siblings with theirs and do your share of the housework.
2. First you yourself need to be sure of the reasons of wanting to get highlights in your hair before convincing your mother to allow you to do so.
3. Do not choose colors like blue, green or red or you can bid your permission bye-bye for ever. You also might end up with colors that you really did not want.
4. Tell her that if she really does not like your hair afterwards then you will dye it back to the original color.
5. Convince her by choosing a conventional color like blond or light blond or better let her choose the color for you.

• Be willing to pay for the highlighting yourself out of your own allowance, it might convince her about your determination.
• If she still does not seem convinced and says a categorical no then give in gracefully. She might agree after she mulls over it for a while.

• Read the instructions carefully before attempting anything or get it done by a professional in a salon. (If you can afford it)
• Don’t skimp and buy a cheap product or you might just end up doing irreparable damage to your hair.
