Jupiter takes nearly twelve years to complete one round of the zodiac orbit. On an average, it visits one zodiac a year. Its nature is masculine. It is the planetary ruler of Sagittarius and Pisces. It is placed in the ninth and twelfth houses in the natal chart.

History

The origins of the name of Jupiter lie in Sanskrit, the language of migrants from India to Europe. Its name in Sanskrit was Dyaus – Piter meaning “Sky Father”. He was believed to be the original creator and presided over all other Gods. The Romans called Ju-piter Father Iu. Zeus was the name given to it by its ancient Greek worshippers. The latinized version of the name was Deus.
