Little League is an organization that enables children around the world to practice teamwork and fair play through the games of baseball and softball. Boys and girls aged 5 through 18 are welcome to join and participate in the fun while learning to be good sports. The teachings of the little league center around the words courage, character and loyalty.
Past to present
In 1939, the Little League organization was created by a man named Carl Stotz. Three teams made up the league in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Since, the Little League headquarters have moved across the river from its original location in Williamsport to its current home of South Williamsport.
Divisions
Little League baseball and softball can be divided into six different divisions. Each division is divided according to the age of the child. Once a child becomes too old for one division, they may graduate to the next. The age restrictions for each of the six divisions may vary based on region.

Little League World Series
Like the MLB, the Little League organization hosts a World Series every year in South Williamsport. Two stadiums house the series- Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Little League Volunteer Stadium. Tournaments are played throughout the United States, its territories and abroad to determine which teams will play in the Series. In addition to the Little League World Series, each of the separate divisions play tournaments that culminate in their own World Series. Each of these divisional series’ are held in various locations.
