In 2004, Forbes Magazine named Bloomberg as No. 34 of the 400 Richest Americans and named him No. 90 in the 500 Richest in the World. He is reportedly worth $5 billion and has donated more than $200 million to Johns Hopkins University.
As mayor, Bloomberg maintains his residence on the Upper East Side and does not live in Grace Mansion, the mayor’s provided home. His address and phone number are still listed in the white pages of the phone book. He also rides the subway to City Hall every morning.
Bloomberg is considered a liberal republican. He supports abortion rights and same-sex marriage.
