Biological warfare (or germ warfare) is defined as the use of toxins or organisms as weapons of war. Common organisms include viruses, bacteria or any other disease-causing organism. People use such weapons in order to kill or incapacitate an opponent. The Biological Weapons Convention of 1972 was signed by more than 100 countries and forbids the development of biological weapons.
