Hunting is the practice of chasing animals in order to capture or kill them for food, trade or recreation. Nowadays the term is strictly used for legal hunting as opposed to poaching (the capture or killing of animals in violation of the law). Animals killed because of the threat they cause to humans are not consider part of hunting. Wildlife management can also be a reason behind the killing of certain species in specific locations.
