Perfumery makes use of aromatic compounds and odorous essential oils that are dissolved in solvents. These are used to provide a pleasant odor to the human body, objects and living spaces. Perfumes are composed of three major layers. These are known as the notes and are the top, middle and base notes. These all contribute a different odor to the perfume.
