From ArticleWorld

Employment is the contract between two parties: An employer and an employee. The employer is typically a business with the objective of creating profits (or, in the case of the nonprofit or public sectors, in raising funds). The employee provides labor in a specific skill sate for an hourly wage or a yearly salary. Employment is universal in capitalist societies. When one is not employed, unemployment exists. In large companies, human resources departments manage employment and hiring as well as the employee benefits and production of an employee handbook. A variety of ways exist to search for employment, including the Internet, newspaper ads and word of mouth.
