A society may be defined as an extended social group having a distinctive cultural and economic organization with similar interests and common institutions. People, who belong to a society share a number of characteristics, interact with one another and follow rules and regulations and also enjoy the rights as members of the group. We accept obligations and are influenced by the presence of others while conforming to group behavior. Dealing with neighbors, solving relationship problems, being respected and well liked as well as helping the community to be safe, are all part of belonging to a society.

A society is a group of human beings with a set of like characteristics, including mutual interests, relationships within the group, shared institutions, hierarchies, regulations, cultural traditions, and codes of honor, conduct, morality and ethics.
